About David Ireland
David Ireland MA(Cantab), MBA, CPA, GSSP-C, Director of DI Management
Services, has a first-class honours degree in Engineering from
Cambridge University, a Master of Business Administration from
the Australian Graduate School of Management, and is a member
of the Australian Society of Certified Practising Accountants.
He is currently finishing a degree in Mathematics.
Before setting up DI Management Services, David was Managing Director of Telstra V-Comm Ltd, a satellite communications company based in New Delhi, India. Before that he held positions as:
Commercial Manager with Telstra Corporation in Sydney Australia;
Business Planning Manager with Tooheys Limited, a New South Wales brewing company;
Management Consultant with Cresap, McCormick and Paget, now the general consulting division of Towers Perrin;
Analyst with stockbrokers, BZW Australia;
National Manager Computer Aided Design with consulting engineers McDonald Wagner, now Connell Wagner;
Manager ACE Computer Graphics;
Structural Engineer with Merz & McLellan & Partners in Australia and Sir Robert McAlpine & Sons in London.
David has extensive experience analysing business systems and producing practical computer-based solutions to his clients' problems. He is an expert in Microsoft Access, Visual Basic, the C programming language, HTML and Perl. For what it's worth these days, he has created projects in dBase IV, dBase II, Assembler and, yes, even Fortran. David was co-author of a patent on electronic documents in a postal network. He has lectured in mathematics and specialises in producing cryptographic code.
David is a holder of the GIAC Secure Software Programmer certification (GSSP-C) from the SANS Software Security Institute.
As a Management Consultant, David has carried out strategic analysis and organisational efficiency projects with Cathay Pacific Airlines in Hong Kong, the Royal Flying Doctor Service in Western Australia, the Department of Education and the Arts in Tasmania, Illawarra Elecricity in New South Wales, and a regional television station in Australia.
